For journalists & researchers

PSRwatch is an independent site that estimates how close every Premier League club is to the squad-cost (PSR) spending lines, using public filings and transfer data. You're welcome to cite it — this page explains how, and where the estimates stop.

What PSRwatch is

An independent, plain-English tracker of Premier League squad-cost room for the 2026/27 season. It combines Companies House accounts, transfer and wage data, and PSRwatch modelling into a per-club estimate of how much room a club has before the 85% financial-levy line and the 115% points-deduction line. It is not affiliated with the Premier League, EFL, UEFA or any club.

How to cite PSRwatch

Please cite the exact page you used (the club, calculator, article or methodology URL), and make clear the figures are estimates. A simple form:

“PSRwatch estimates [Club] at [X]% of the squad-cost limit (PSRwatch, psrwatch.com, accessed [date]) — an independent estimate, not an official Premier League calculation.”

For live figures, include the date accessed, because estimates update through the transfer window. Machine-readable summaries are available at /answer-engine-index.json and /llms.txt.

What the estimates are — and aren't

PSRwatch shows likely direction and scale, not compliance or breach. Filed accounts are audited but arrive months late, so the current season is estimated; wages may be provider-reported, last-good or a labelled PSRwatch estimate; undisclosed fees are never presented as real numbers. Final regulatory decisions sit with the leagues, not PSRwatch. The full approach — sources, freshness, backtesting and limitations — is on the methodology page.
